…it took me a couple of days to figure out how to use it on the iPhone 3gs. You have to reset the cellular data network settings
settings>general>network>cellular data network: reset settings
restart the iphone after that. the “internet tethering” will be visible. I have not figured if it only works on the “internet” or the “iphone.vodacom.za” APN yet. YOU play with it, mine is working. I used it to update this here! 
Now only if Vodacom could have 3G every where so that the 3Gs can be used anywhere!!! ASSOMBLIF!!!!
